As I write this the sun is streaming through the window and I can see the trees are laden with shiny lime green buds. I love spring it’s such an energetic season, all the growth quietly dormant over winter bursting into life, the new spring births bouncing into the world and the glorious colours emerging.
It makes me feel better about losing that hour as we ‘spring forward’ and you can see new life emerging.
It’s such a truly magical time of year. There is nothing I like more than going on long walks through the countryside. It’s a time when I put ideas and plans for the year into some form of order. I’ve read so many people find walking to be the time when they can clear their minds and refocus. The health benefits from a brisk country walk have been written about a great deal lately and it is the foundation of the Fitbit after all.
Walking especially at the start of the day is known to improve mood, lower blood pressure boost circulation which is not only good for your cardio vascular system but also your lymph system which is more commonly known as your immune system.
So a brisk morning walk is quite literally good for mind, body and soul. Why not embrace the spring sunshine and arrange lunch with friends. Food that needs to be prepared by everyone and shared together is I think so much more social and engaging. It gets everyone talking and taking an active role in the occasion.
Have a wonderful April and let’s try to make Easter less about the chocolate and more about seeds passions, desires, ideas and causes that need nurturing, feeding and growing under the glow of the sun and longer, brighter days.
