Try this to give yourself a cleansing, immune-boosting start to the day. The Lemon Spicy Tonic can help to kick start your digestion as well as boosting your liver function and immunity. Your metabolism will love the cayenne as well! If you take this drink at the first sign of a cold it will fight the bugs before they have a chance to breed. Fantastic addition to your morning routine.
Ingredients
Serves 1
  • 1 lemon (peel but use the pith)
  • Thumb-sized piece root ginger, peeled
  • ¾ glass organic apple juice (if you can juice it from fresh apples, fabulous)
  • ¼ glass water
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil (it cleanses the liver and makes the drink taste creamy)
  • 1 garlic clove (optional, but great for the immune system)
Instructions
  1. Whizz all the ingredients in a blender for about 4 minutes until smooth.
  2. Drink at once through a glass straw rather than plastic straw to protect teeth.
  3. Unless Bisphenol A-free, plastic straws leach dioxins which can cause health disorders.
